Multi-family homes in Ramapo

February
19

A 132-unit active adult development is proposed off Highview Road. Comments anyone?

A couple of details: the development would be taxed, and the builder cites amenities including a five-acre park, pool and walking trails.

Where should such a development be built in the town, or should it be allowed at all? Should any single-family housing zones be changed for multi-family buildings?

IT IS A SHAME WHAT IS HAPPENING IN RAMAPO. THE SUBURBAN NATURE IS BEING DISMANTLED AND DESTROYED TOWN BY TOWN, STREET BY STREET. AND ALL OF IT IS BEING ALLOWED BY C. ST. LAWRENCE AND HIS POLITITIAN HENCHMEN AS WELL AS HIS ASSOCIATES IN THE ROCKLAND LEGISLATURE. ALL BEING ALLOWED UNDER THE GUISE OF THREATS BY SPECIAL INTEREST GROUPS USING THE RLUIPA LAW AS A BAT. BESIDES CREATING MASSIVE DEVELOPMENTS, MOST OF THESE SLOWLY TURN INTO SLUMS, AS THE INFASTRUCTURES QUICKLY DECAY AND FALL APART.. NOW, AN ADDITIONAL 132 UNIT DEVELOPMENT ON TOP OF WHAT IS HAPPENING AND BEING PLANNED IS AN INSULT TO ANY GOOD CITIZEN OF RAMAPO THAT IS TRYING TO LIVE A QUIET SUBURBAN LIFE, PAYING MUCH TOO MUCH TAXES TO SUPPORT THOSE WHO ARE OFF THE TAX ROLLS. PEOPLE WILL LEAVE FOR OTHER EVIRONS WHERE THEIR GOVERNMENT WILL SUPPORT THE QUEST FOR QUIET , SUBURBAN LIFESTYLES. EVENTUALLY THE POLITITIANS WILL LEAVE RAMAPO TOO, AND THEIR LEGACY WILL BE A DESTROYED INFASTRUCTUR, APARTMENT BUILDINGS…...A WEAKENED AND MEAGER TAX BASE TO SUPPORT THOUSANDS AND THOUSANDS OF ADDITIONAL RESIDENTS.
THIS 132 UNIT DEVELOPMENT MUST BE STOPPED AS WELL AS OTHERS, POMONA, HILLSIDE AVE….SLOATSBURG AND WHO KNOWS WHAT ELSE.
I AM A FORMER RESIDENT OF AIRMONT WHO SOLD MY HOME IN 2006
AND MOVED TO NORTH CAROLINA. I GUARANTEE THERE WILL BE MANY MORE LEAVING IN DROVES IF ALL THIS DEVELOPMENT IS NOT STOPPED.
