Ingesting the idea of food allergies

May
24

When working on a story about a woman whose son has life-threatening allergies to all traces of dairy and eggs, it seemed a common problem the mother faced was that people are too skeptical about the idea of severe food allergies to take her seriously. (You can read the story on Lohud.com by clicking here.) She said it got to the point where she started receiving dirty looks from other parents when she asked if they would take special precautions to prevent her son from having an allergic reaction.

The other day, I read something on msn.com about water allergies. After reading further, I learned that people are sensitive to certain additives in water, such as chlorine or flouride but they weren’t actually allergic to water itself. You can read more about that story by clicking here.

Parents who contacted me after my story was printed felt the word “allergies” should be taken seriously so there’s less skepticism about such an important topic.

If you suspect a food allergy, you can get tested… Cell Science Systems providers of the Alcatâ„¢ test for food and chemical sensitivity, recently reported significant results from a 100 patient survey that indicates an 80% improvement for the alleviation of fatigue and IBS after patients implemented dietary changes indicated by results of the ALCAT food panel test.
