Former Haverstraw village trustee Ricky Sanchez, who is running for mayor, said most of his election signs were either vandalized or disappeared over the weekend.
Sanchez said he put up about 30 signs around noon Saturday.
On Sunday morning, his supporters called him up and told him that his signs were spray-painted. He drove around the village and learned that many of his signs were either spray-painted or missing.
Sanchez said he filed a police report. He said he would offer a $500 reward for information leading to the arrest of suspects. Sanchez can be reached at 845-429-9240 or 845-826-0419.

Nothing against any person running for election, but I for one get sick of political signs. Seeing them doesn't encourage me to vote one way or the other.
So, for someone to show their frustration at some signs I can understand, though it is wrong, I suppose.
I hope there are less signs this season. It's not attractive
Haverstraw mayoral candidate’s sings vandalized
I wonder how the tune went…
"Oh, Ricky, your lawn signs.
Your lawn signs got vandalized.
Hey, Ricky. Hey, Ricky."
(My work on typo patrol continues elsewhere…)
I saw the News 12 report. How anyone could spray over a sign on the side of an overpass, I doubt would go unnoticed.
Something tells me this guy did it himself to just gain attention.
I cannot stand signs .. specially political or the ones for realtors. I had to tell one realtor , um excuse me. i dont care you have an open house down the street my front lawn isnt for you.
My wife hates the Open House signs; I don't mind so much. (Lucky us, we live on a corner.)
But, at the very least, COME GET YOUR SIGN! when you're done.
Well, I just hope that there aren't too many political mailings either this year. I don't want to read about the accomplishments and plans of someone who wants to run for office. More importantly, I want to see them out and about handing out their own cards, and answering questions of the public.
