Ramapo election signs

The Ramapo Democrats appear to be an efficient bunch. In less than 24 hours after their convention on Wednesday night, campaign signs were seen on roadsides touting their full Town Board slate.
The convention was held to pick a candidate to replace the late Harry Reiss on the board, and Itamar Yeger, a New Hempstead village trustee, was the overwhelming favorite of the committee.
Yeger’s name was on the roadside signs by the following morning, a feat that may bring to mind the craftsman at the British Open who begins engraving Tiger Woods’ name into the Claret Jug before the tournament concludes.

After waving hello to a couple walking past our Campaign Headquarters on McNamara rd, as is my custom, the gentlemen asked me if I knew who he was and replied by asking had we ever met and he said he is: Yeger who is running for office.
I congratulated him and asked if was aware of the sign thief from this area who stole our signs? His female companion replied the code enforcer takes them if they are too close to the road, she continued telling me much more dispite his insistence she be quiet.
I pointed out this was private property and the code enforcer had not taken Yegers signs that are on the road. Toomie Yeger responded; it was not any of "my" friends who stole the lawn signs. I pointed out, I did not ask him if any of his friends had taken them; only if he were aware of it. To which he turned and continued to walk away without responding.
As a result of our friendly chat, Mr. Yeger provided us with a glimpse into his guilty conscience; by denying any part in a crime to which he was never accused of. Much like children when asked which one of you knocked over the vase and one of them responds with: "it wasn't Timmy."
