Thoughts on Riverspace plans?

By now, many of you have heard about Riverspace’s grand plans to raze several blocks on Main Street in Nyack and replace it with a new arts, retail and residential complex with a parking garage. The art center’s board envisions a group of staggered buildings that preserve a Main Street charm, none higher than four stories. Board members say the project is not for profit and could be supported by a mix of private and public funds.

Now that the proposal is out there, it’s time to fess up. What are your thoughts on the plan? Realistic or not? Appealing or not? Appropriate or not?
