Haverstraw town highway's trucks migrated

A caller alerted me this morning that Haverstraw town’s highway trucks migrated to the town’s Philip Rotella Memorial Golf Course.
To see what’s going on, I drove by the golf course on Thiells-Mount Ivy Road this afternoon, and saw a total of 13 trucks, some of them with snowplows, neatly lined up in the parking lot next to the driving range in the back of the clubhouse.
I called Highway Superintendent Frank Brooks and asked him why those trucks were moved to the golf course, and he said that the department needed to clean up the garage and had to temporarily relocate the trucks.
He also said that sometime today, a state inspector was supposed to visit the golf course and the park’s department, which is located in the same property with the highway department, for an annual inspection, so that by moving the trucks, he “could clean up the garage and get things straightened up here,” Brooks said.
Brooks said all the trucks will return to the garage tonight.

I wonder if Super Frank told the inspector that the trucks would be moved back that night? Considering that the agreement with the state to use the property that they were inspecting is supposed to be used for golf course and parks department equipment only; it seems that the Town was not telling the whole story (to the Journal news or the state) Maybe, someone from the journal news should contact mr. Brooks and get the name and number of the inspector, then contact him/her and find out the truth about the property. Ask if there are restrictions on the use of the property and if so, what are they? and did they know that is the site of the Highway garage also? Please enquiring minds need to know…
