Bob Rhodes do you have $2.5 million to do a flood mitagation project, maybe instead of spending your money on trying to take over a party you dop not belong to, maybe you should try and fix the flood problem. Suffern has waited a long time for flood mitigation and heard nothing from the Army Corp or Ellen Jaffee about funding for the project. You and your buddy Joe Meyers should cut the crap.

I left a message with Mayor Keegan that I would like to accept his invitation to visit the quarry which is behind two locked chain link fences. Give him a call at 357-2600. I suspect he will appreciate support from the community.

If Suffern had sold the quarry at a realistic price it could have eliminated its real estate taxes for seveeral years. Instead a good buddy of Supervisor St. Lawrence will put the money in his pocket. If I were mayor Keegan I too would be upset!

The "quarry" contains a 20 acre quarry and 45 acres of beautiful forest. This is land that Ramapo Supervisor St. Lawrence has sold for somewhere between a fifth and a tenth of what the land would be worth if his builder friends can bamboozle a subdivision with 440 building permits.

This is also land that has been listed as "open space" by the town of Ramapo. Ramapo refuses to dedicate open space as park land because they say it is "not necessary." How much more "open space" is St. Lawrence planning to give away to favored political supporters in the building community?

If you want to see an aerial view of this land go to www.PreserveRamapo.org.

Preserve Ramapo is presently collecting evidence that it will use in a suit against St. Lawrence and his cronies on the town board.

This lawsuit should not be necessary. Unfortunately, in Ramapo you can get away with almost anything secure in the knowledge that few private parties can afford to sue a town with essentially unlimited resources (our tax dollars) to fight ordinary citizens.
