What about Obama?

September
18

As the Rockland Democratic Committee meeting was overrun Wednesday night – Sept. 17 – by Ramapo Democrats for Change, I couldn’t help noticing a couple of 12-inch by 10-inch posters stuck to the wall behind the podium.

They were campaign posters carrying photos of state Senate hopeful Gregory Julian on top and the Democratic candidate for PRESIDENT Barack Obama on the bottom.

Wow, that’s right, this is a PRESIDENTIAL election year!

It seemed the race for the White House – 47 days away – was lost in the shuffle over control of the Ramapo Democratic Committee.

Or maybe the powers that be figure it’s a no-brainer that Rockland will go for Obama.

Thinking about it….I haven’t heard much from the local Republicans about their PRESIDENTIAL candidate either. Where are all the John McCain lawn signs? When will faces of the candidates start showing up on lapel buttons around Rockland?

Can the emphasis all be aimed at the internet? Hope not. After all, what’s more satisfying than plunging your favorite’s campaign sign into the lawn across the street from a misguided neighbor supporting the opposition?
