Peeking at the Ramapo petitions

It can be interesting to leaf through petitions filed to get prospective candidates on the ballot.
Petitions for a Republican ticket, which includes Ramapo Supervisor Christopher St. Lawrence and town Justice Rhoda Schoenberger – both Democrats – on the GOP primary ballot were collected by a variety of local political veterans.
They included Michael Dolan, the town’s Republican chairman, John Layne, the former Airmont mayor, Allan Thompson, the former Spring Valley mayor, and Sloatsburg village Trustees Barbara Berntsen and J. Mark Reimer.
One non-office holder, Golde Kaff of New Square, appeared particularly energetic. She witnessed 396 signatures, according to a petition filed with the Rockland Board of Elections.

All the people who collected for these Dems to get on the Rep line and people who are beholden to them for jobs, etc. Real Republicans either shredded their petitions and mailed them back to Vinny Reda in protest, or collected no signatures at all! Shame on the Rep party for allowing their own candidates to be kicked off the ballot in September and for allowing Dems to take over the line. Where’s the democracy in that??!! It’ll be interesting to see how many jobs are created for the heads of the Rep party in Ramapo after this. Watch and see.
Interesting piece. Why is this tucked away on the web equivalent of the back page. Never mind I can guess. You have no wish to confront the St Lawrence-Tammany Hall machine. I think that Ms. Kaff is employed by the Town. However, if I am mistaken I do think the Supervisor and his family should simply move to New Square. We all know this is where his heart is, not to mention his base.
