Nyack gang fight repercussions

The repercussions continue from a Spring Valley gang attacking Nyack gang members as a result of a gang-related bandanna snatching at Nyack High School.

Engel pushes for anti-terror funding for Rockland

Rockland Sheriff accredited; Clarkstown getting re-accredited

The Rockland Sheriff's Department will received it's accreditation certificate from New York State this afternoon during a ceremony planned for the Rockland Legislature chambers in the County Office Building in New City.

Update: Karben responds to blog on his Spitzer 'advice'

Ryan Karben responded to yesterday's blog. In an e-mail, Karben wrote that he never stated that "Spitzer should (or should not) resign."

He wrote that he'd simply responded to a reporter's "what-if" question.

Bongiorno fumes at Spitzer

Michael Bongiorno was angrier than most about Gov. Eliot Spitzer being reportedly involved with prostitutes. And not too many people were happier than Bongiorno that Spitzer's political career could end.

Talking about Spitzer angers Bongiorno, who was Rockland's district attorney for 12 years until losing in November to Democrat Thomas Zugibe.

Runaway found through posters

The system worked, though there were some bumps along the way.

A Haverstraw runaway, Kimberly Escobar, 16, was found and back with her family, as of Saturday. Her mother reported her missing on Jan. 2, after she left home on Dec. 24.

Escobar was found, police say, because a cabbie recognized her face from missing posters [...]
