Grand View trustee on the best seller’s list

A Grand View (grant) writer is on the New York Times Best Seller’s list.
Of course this needs some explanation; she hasn’t written a best-selling grant, or anything like that. That would be something.
Catherine Whitney is a writer. She lives in the waterfront village and serves on the Village Board where, among other things, she is responsible for grant writing. She earns a buck a year in that role.
Professionally, Whitney has written about 20 books and collaborated with the likes of Jeanine Pirro and Geraldine Ferraro, among others. Basically, she helped those public figures write their books.
Typically with these high-profile people, their pictures appear on the covers, with Whitney’s name somewhere underneath in small print.
We know who is doing the writing.
Whitney’s recent project, a book she wrote with Lee Iacocca, is titled “Where Have All the Leaders Gone?â€? It has been on the prestigious list for six weeks and this week was number nine.
No doubt that has to give the village some cache in its grant-gaining efforts.
So how about village hall? Perhaps Iacocca can help turn around that historic building.
