Now they’ve done it.

Nyack village officials are considering a resolution that would call for Congress to begin impeachment proceedings against President Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney. The resolution has no force of law; it’s a memorializing resolution — basically a way a governmental body can express an opinion on something about which they have no authority over.

And keep in mind, they’re hardly the first — Plattsburgh, N.Y.; Chapel Hill, N.C.; Carrboro, N.C.; Sebastopol, Ca., already have passed similar resolutions
